The State Security Services (SSS) says the suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has turned himself in after an invitation.
The secret policy unit said Bawa and he arrived “a few hours ago.”
“The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him,” the agency said in a statement Wednesday night.

President Bola Tinubu suspended Mr Bawa as chairman of the EFCC on Wednesday.
The Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation said he faces “weighty allegations of abuse of office”, and his removal will allow “for proper investigation into his conduct while in office.”
Mr Bawa is the second senior government official to be suspended by the new president following Friday’s suspension of the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele. Mr Emefiele was arrested by the SSS on Saturday.
Mr Bawa, 43, was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in February 2021 as the youngest chairperson of the anti-graft agency. He replaced Ibrahim Magu.
In May, former governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle, accused Mr Bawa of soliciting a $2 million bribe from him. The EFCC denied the allegation.
