A particularly deadly road crash has killed 25 people in Bauchi state, an official has said.
The accident occurred on Thursday in Udobo village in Gamawa Local Government Area of the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria quotes the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp in the state, Yusuf Abdullahi, as saying that 10 people sustained injuries in the crash.
The accident involved a Toyota Hummer bus which lost control after losing a tyre while a top speed, he said.
“Thirty-five persons were involved in the road crash,” the official said.
“Twenty-five of them – nine adult male, 11 adult female, two male children and three female children – lost their lives on the spot.
“Ten others sustained serious injuries and they are all male adults,’’ he said.

The state suffered a similar loss two months ago when 18 people were burnt to death in an accident that occurred in Toro local government area.
At the time, Mr Abdullahi said the victims died after a Hiace bus collided head-on with a trailer, causing an explosion.
Three people in the trailer survived the crash.
