President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries and directed the arrest of the promoter operating under multiple aliases, following the discovery of another illegal agency operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
The sanctions were announced on Friday, August 21, 2026, by Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu (SAN), Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), following a comprehensive security briefing delivered to the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The newly exposed fictitious body—operating under the title “National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office”—was found to have been illegally allocated physical office space inside the OSGF complex without presidential authorization or statutory approval.
The promoter of the fraudulent setup has been identified as Prince George Buchi Nwabueze, who investigators discovered operated using at least four different aliases: George Nathan, George Nathan Nwabueze, Hon. George Buchi Nwabueze, and George Nwabueze.
Following the ICPC Chairman’s report, President Tinubu issued immediate directives ordering the arrest of Nwabueze and the indefinite suspension of three top civil servants suspected of facilitating the operation.
“In relation to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and procedural weaknesses in the public service, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered another fake agency/office operating under the name: National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office,” ICPC Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu told State House correspondents.
“The promoter, George Buchi Nwabueze, was discovered to also operate under four other variations of his name… I have briefed Mr. President comprehensively on these new developments and findings,” Aliyu added.
“Accordingly, Mr. President has directed as follows: The immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze; the immediate suspension of the following Permanent Secretaries: M.S. Danjuma, Engr. Nadungu Gagare, and Richard P. Pheelangwah,” the ICPC Chairman confirmed.
The exposure of the National Brands Development office marks the fourth fictitious body uncovered inside federal administrative structures since April 2026, pointing to severe systemic vulnerabilities in public service oversight.
The ongoing probe originated from the discovery of the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” (PFIPC), whose self-styled director-general, Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, is currently facing court prosecution for forgery and impersonation.
Subsequent ICPC interim reports submitted to the presidency on August 6 flagged two additional unauthorized bodies: the FCT Investment Promotion Agency and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and Public-Private Partnership.
The ICPC confirmed that active investigations are continuing in direct coordination with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to root out internal collaborators involved in assigning official resources to unauthorized entities.
