Ecobank Nigeria has rolled out an upgraded version of its mobile app, promising a faster, smarter, and more seamless banking experience for customers.
In a statement on Monday, the bank said the upgrade underscores its commitment to digital innovation and financial inclusion, offering users an improved interface and a suite of enhanced features designed for convenience and security.
The new Ecobank Mobile App introduces advanced facial recognition, streamlined bill payments, airtime top-ups, and QR code payments—all aimed at simplifying everyday banking for users on the move.
Bolaji Lawal, managing director of Ecobank Nigeria, said the new version reflects the bank’s vision of smarter digital banking. “These new features make smart banking effortless for our customers using their smartphones. The app leverages digital technology to offer real convenience, security, and flexibility, enabling individuals to manage their finances with ease,” he said.
Also speaking, Kola Adeleke, Executive Director, Commercial and Consumer Banking, explained that the upgrade includes several new capabilities: “Customers can now open accounts, onboard without cards, manage their cards end-to-end—request, activate, change PIN, block or unblock accounts—reactivate dormant accounts, and monitor foreign exchange rates in real time.”
“This app is not just a digital tool; it represents how we want to engage with our customers,” he added. “Our goal is to make banking faster, smarter, and simpler for everyone.”
The upgraded Ecobank Mobile App is available for download on the App Store and Google Play Store.
