The 3 Million Technical Talent mostly referred to as 3MTT initiative, launched by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, aims to build Nigeria’s technical talent base to drive the country’s digital economy and establish Nigeria as a global exporter of tech talent.

The first phase of the programme kicked off in December 2023 with 30,000 fellows selected across all 36 states and the FCT.

According to the ministry, the second phase of the programme will train 270,00 technical talents in three cohorts of 60,000, 90,000 and 120,000 respectively.

The minister reminded the public that applications for the 3MTT program are still open, offering opportunities to learn in-demand tech skills.

“A reminder also that the portal for new applications is still open at 3mtt.nitda.gov.ng so even if you are not already in the community, you can still participate in the largest talent accelerator programme in the world to learn in-demand tech skills,” the minister said.

The programme is being implemented in collaboration with government agencies, educational institutions, development partners, and private sector players.

The curriculum covers a range of tech and tech-enhanced skills, including; Digital Marketing, Data Analysis and Visualization, UX/UI Design, Project Management Software, Graphics Design, Cloud Platforms Navigation, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
