PayRetailers expands into Nigeria, 11 other African countries

The company offers a unified simple payment solution for cross-border online merchants.

PayRetailers, a leading payment processor in Latin America, has announced further expansion into Africa, now covering 12 countries.

The company offers a unified, user-friendly payment solution designed to help cross-border merchants grow in Africa.

The latest expansion includes eight new markets—Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, and South Africa. It previously launched in Rwanda, Zambia, Uganda, and Tanzania three months ago.

PayRetailers aims to provide businesses with access to key local payment methods like MPESA, Airtel, and MTN, simplifying operations with no additional integration required for existing clients.

“Expanding into eight new markets marks a significant milestone for PayRetailers as we continue our mission to bring tailored payment solutions to diverse regions,” said Jonathan Vintner, Global Head of Sales at PayRetailers.

Vintner highlighted Africa’s diversity in payment preferences, noting that their launch in Kenya allows merchants to tap into M-Pesa, while in South Africa, both card and cash solutions are offered to meet local demand.

“All of this is seamlessly integrated into our existing API,” Vintner added, allowing businesses to connect with top payment methods across both Latin America and Africa.

The company’s expansion supports its goal of driving financial inclusion in underbanked regions while unlocking new growth opportunities for clients.

With many populations across Africa being underbanked, PayRetailers says it is accelerating financial inclusion across the region by supporting businesses with their growth journey. The market is increasingly mobile and connected, with global businesses seeking to tap into the strong growth opportunities across Africa.

Further growth into other African countries and Europe is planned, leveraging PayRetailers’ extensive experience in Latin America to meet the unique needs of African consumers and businesses.
