President Bola Tinubu has assigned offices to 45 new ministers, with only a few surprising calls in a cabinet made of several career politicians and few technocrats.
Former Rivers governor is the FCT minister while former Ebonyi governor, David Umahi, heads the works ministry. Dele Alake, Mr Tinubu’s communications adviser, heads the solid minerals ministry.
The office of Minister of Environment and Ecological Management is left vacant for Kaduna state which currently has not minister. The nominee for the state, its former governor, Nasir el-Rufai, was not given Senate confirmation as he awaited security clearance.
The list of the ministers was released Wednesday evening, over a week after the ministers were confirmed by the Senate.
